Bloomingdale’s TCPA Settlement
In a $1.4 million settlement that has been preliminarily approved by a New Jersey federal judge, Bloomingdale’s Inc. is accused of sending unsolicited text messages to consumers in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. These text messages were allegedly sent to consumers regarding Bloomingdale’s sales and promotions.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan gave early approval to a settlement fund of $750,000 in the form of cash a $650,000 in the form of Bloomingdale’s merchandise vouchers. Class members will be able to receive either a $25 check or a $50 merchandise voucher.
